Thinking before taking any decisions are good in life. . but there are people who analyse about the right and wrong decisions in their life. If your plannings are well formed, then the results would be awesome.

There is something called as "Retirement syndrome" where elderly man comes up with suffering from it after his period of retirement from his usual jobs. Then he has nothing to do.

The syndrome, also classified by Kets de Vries as the "CEO blues",
is an insistence by individuals in positions of leadership or authority to remain in power, despite reaching a plateau in their careers. Individuals in this position may experience feelings of having accomplished all that can be accomplished, and a lack of creativity, or lack of lustre in their current position.
Effects are most strongly felt by those who reach a position of power earlier on in their lifetime as they will spend a much greater amount of time on the down slope towards retirement, as opposed to individuals who reach the "top" in their later years.

Here according to famous psychologist Eric Erickson, he talks about the different stages of development of human's life in eve to Sigmund freud's Psycho sexual development.
It lands at the stage of "generativity vs stagnation" which begins at 45 years of age till 65 years.

During this time, adults strive to create or nurture things that will outlast them; often by parenting children or contributing to positive changes that benefit other people. Contributing to society and doing things to benefit future generations are important needs at the generativity versus stagnation.

Generativity refers to "making your mark" on the world by caring for others as well as creating and accomplishing things that make the world a better place.
Stagnation refers to the failure to find a way to contribute. These individuals may feel disconnected or uninvolved with their community and with society as a whole.
Those who are successful during this phase will feel that they are contributing to the world by being active in their home and community.
Those who fail to attain this skill will feel unproductive and uninvolved in the world.

So thats the reason why those people comes up usually with much problems in their life.
Usually you see

-the loss of work
-the loss of health and vitality
-the loss of public exposure and public contact
-loss of influence, power, attention, and admiration
-loss of financial stability

Later on the end results of it is usually depression, sadness and the despair and loathing of life if they landed in the stagnation.  Make them occupied is the best thing their family can do....! Even if he has his regular visit to the doctor or Psychologist.

- Wrote in awe to a common question why do people come up with psychological issues after  their retirements from job.....
